Who, me?

Aaargh it is really hard for me to describe myself. I mean, how can anyone do that without stepping outside of yourself and observing? The easiest thing for me to do is talk about the external stuff like what are my interests, what I have done in my life, where I live — and with whom, etc. These are just “labels”, seems to me.

But isn’t the point of this page to help others relate? Find a connection? Read my blogs because they just might be interesting?

In that case you should know what makes me tick. That’s the hard part: I have to look inside and get a handle on that…then communicate it really really honestly. Without spin. For a reformed advertising copywriter (oops, let a label slip!) that is a challenge.

I have had friends and not-yet friends tell me I am a good listener. I hope that is true. I want that to be true. The stories people tell me about their life, the ups and downs, triumphs and failures, sincerely interest me. Not for entertainment value — I am listening because deep down I hope I can help in some way. Help like get a better perspective from which to solve a problem or connect them with someone who can give expert advice or offer practical options.

My comfort zone is thinking about life from a spiritual perspective, then relating that to the situation at hand. To me, spiritual living has to have a relative effect. In other words, daily life should be made better when grounded in a spiritual context. So, whenever anyone wants to talk with me about their situation, I am thinking in the spiritual and relating it to the practical.

A really REALLY good friend of mine, a spiritual mentor to me (yep, she is the person who listens to me and helps me figure out stuff…I wonder who is listening to her?) told me that if I want to help MORE people with a spiritual and practical perspective that I should identify myself like that. So this blog is for that purpose.

I am a spiritual healer.

The methodology that I practice is Christian Science. This form of spiritual practice has been my comfort, my guide, my life-saver for a long time. It is a life-long journey of learning who God is and what is my relationship to Her. I have also learned that it isn’t enough for one’s self to be better spiritually, I must help others be better too.

So that is the point of this blog. Share what is going on with my spiritual journey and what others are telling me about theirs. I really hope you share what is going on in your life too. Believe me, I want to hear all about it. Use the comments area or send me an email at chrisraymondcsi@gmail.com.

OK, here is an interesting label: At the beginning of the year, my husband and I took a leap and moved from the US to live  full-time in Mexico. To a small (tiny) town on the Pacific ocean, about 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta. Hoo boy, everyday the experience (language, infrastructure, culture) demands that I affirm my inseparable connection with God and that gives me only blessing. And guess what? This is the most wonderful place with the most rewarding lifestyle I have ever lived :-)
